Epson has a large LCD colour screen on its two new portable storage devices.
Increased file format support includes most of the major video and music codecs, as well as excellent picture files, including RAW and JPEG.
The major upgrade to the latest devices – apart from capacity – is the addition of a fourth colour (Emerald Green) to the RGB LCD. This produces excellent colour reproduction, and the LCD resolution is impressive.
The menu is simple to navigate, with fast browsing of files and images.
There’s also PictBridge support.
The unit is bigger than some of the others and fits less easily into a pocket. The volume is fairly low when listening to music and video, compared to the Archos.
Verdict: Very impressive, simple-to-use units, despite being fairly expensive
Pros:
Excellent LCD screens, intuitive
