Kodak is to stop making cameras in favour of outsourcing manufacture to a third party company, it has been reported on The Times’ online news site.
The company, which has been making cameras for over a century, has faced mounting finacial troubles over the last 18 months, culminating in the axing of 25,000 jobs and reported losses of $282 million.
Hi-tech designer and manufacturer Flextronics will take over Kodak?s remaining camera business, while Kodak will continue to control high-level system design and advanced research and development.
