Snapperstuff.com has announced the availability of a range of handy new products, including a laptop sun shield and a range of belt-and-pouch kit belts.
The Pixel Eclipse, made by US-based ThinkTANK Photo, is a compact case that pops open to form a complete shade, blocking peripheral light when the sun’s glare makes it difficult to view a laptop screen. Made from non-slip material, it costs £52.99 and is compatible with 12 to 17in laptops. Though the Pixel Eclipse folds neatly into a compact case, it is not designed to transport the laptop on the inside.
A further new release comes in the form of a range of belt-and-pouch packs for digital SLR photographers. As with all modular belt and pouch systems, a key benefit of the belts is that photographers only need wear the pouches they need for a particular shoot. But unlike rival products, the Pro Speed belt has a “rotate or lock” mechanism, which allows users to slide the pouches around the waist and straight into the hands if they need to change a lens, switch batteries or whip out a new memory card. Similarly, bulky pouches can be moved out of the way when they’re not needed or moved to a different part of the body for more comfort. They can also be locked into position for extra security.
The Pro Speed Belt can be bought individually (£26.99) or as a six-piece or 12-piece set. The six-piece Modulus Set (£114.99) comes with a Pro Speed Belt, and seam-sealed rain cover pouches big enough for an F2.8 mid-range zoom, an F2.8 wide-angle zoom, SLR flash, 10 CF memory cards, batteries, teleconverters, small lenses and other SLR items.
The 12-piece Pro Modulus Speed Set (£225.99) has all the components above plus a pouch for an F2.8 telephoto zoom, two pouches with extra-fast access to telephoto zoom and teleconverters, a bum bag, a drinks holder and a lightweight harness with pockets and D-rings to attach accessories.
