Cardmedia has announced that the DigiMagic DM180 1.8? portable storage drive is now available in capacities of 40Gb and 60Gb.
Pictures can be transferred onto the device at the push of a button from a selection of memory cards, including CompactFlash I/II, Memory Stick, SecureDigital and Xd, using built-in card slots. A backlit LCD displays information about the file transfer, including the remaining hard drive capacity.
With dimensions of 79x89x30.5mm the DM180 is small enough to fit into a pocket, and a built-in battery enables photographers to back up their photos while on location. Promising 120 minutes of use from a single charge, the battery can be recharged using a USB 2.0 cable connected to a PC or Mac.
The Digimagic DM180 40Gb retails for £235 and the 60Gb drive is £280. It is supplied with a carrying case, USB cable, Universal AC Power Adapter and manual.
