Digital photographers can store 25,000 photographs, 15,000 songs or over 150 hours of video on the iPod, which is available in black and white. It comes in capacities of 30GB and 60GB. Users can transfer home movies onto the iPod and view them on the 2.5in colour LCD.
A deal with ABC in America means that US owners of the iPod can buy and view five ABC television programmes including ?Lost? and ?Desperate Housewives? through iTunes 6 at a cost of $1.99 each, along with 2000 music videos and a selection of short films from Pixar Animations. Apple is currently in discussions with television networks regarding content for the UK audience.
Steve Jobs from Apple said: ?The new iPod is the best music player ever ? it?s 20% thinner and has 50% more storage than its predecessor ? yet it sells for the same price and plays stunning video on its 2.5in LCD screen.?
The iPod 30GB will cost £219, and the 60GB drive costs £299. Both will be available next week from the Apple store. Find out more at www.apple.com.
