With a white and clear perspex design giving it a contemporary ‘Apple Mac’ style, the Philips 7FF1M4 isn’t unattractive, and different coloured fascias (which are supplied) allow you to match it to your décor.

Out of the box it can take a little while to familiarise yourself with the controls, and there’s no remote control, but this is forgivable as image quality is very good.

Although the 7in LCD doesn’t have the largest surface area (due to its 4:3 ratio image format) the resolution is high and this means the images it displays are sharp and bright, with excellent colours and a good angle of view.

Like the AG Neovo V-10 there’s also a built-in battery and internal memory for storing favourite pictures, but there’s no ‘multimedia’ capability – it’s just a picture frame. It gains a fraction over the AG Neovo unit in screen quality, but for me it loses out marginally on screen size and design.
