Panasonic Lumix G7 Review – Image Quality

You can rely on the G7 to produce bright, punchy colours. It performed particularly well in high-contrast conditions, rendering red, green and blue tones accurately as seen by our eyes at the point of capture.
Examination of our test images revealed the sensor records superb colour, with JPEGs appearing very similar in tone to Raw files. At its base sensitivity the sensor resolved 2800l/ph at ISO 100 and continued to resolve the same level of detail up to ISO 800.
Detail holds up well as the sensitivity is pushed towards ISO 3200, but beyond ISO 6400 the level of fine detail deteriorates quite quickly.

Luminance noise starts to make an appearance at ISO 800, but ISO 3200 and 6400 are both useable provided noise reduction is applied in post and they’re used for less critical applications. Users should stay well clear of ISO 25600.
