There’s certainly not a huge amount of difference between the D7100 and the D7200, with the new addition upgrading only a few small points.

Many sports and wildlife shooters felt the D7100‘s buffer capacity was somewhat limited, so it’s great to see the Nikon D7200 improve upon this. It’s a touch disappointing, however, not to see touchscreen functionality or tilting/articulation added to the LCD, and also not to see a body restructuring like many of the other recent Nikon cameras.

However while we can draw criticism from the camera’s omissions, fundamentally the D7200 is still a solid performer. The impressive autofocus performance makes it one of the faster APS-C cameras available, it has lots of controls and is constructed of strong and robust materials which make it rugged and weather sealed throughout.
