Memory Stick PRO storage now comes in capacities as large as 8GB ? double the size of previous Memory Sticks. Created in response to the rapidly growing needs of digital photographers and enthusiastic users of portable entertainment devices, the new Memory Stick can store a range of entertainment files, including approximately 3000 digital photos with 10 megapixel resolution (in Standard mode setting), 19 hours of MPEG4 video for playback on a PSP (recorded at 768kbps), or up to 2000 MP3 songs with an average length of 4 minutes (recorded at 128kbps).

The new Memory Stick includes a five-year warranty, while free file rescue software can be downloaded from www.sonydigital-link.com/memstick/ for quick recovery of photographs that may have been lost or deleted. All Memory Stick PRO Duo media come complete with a standard size Memory Stick adaptor.

The 8GB stick is compatible with all Sony Cybershot, Handycam and VAIO products launched from the beginning of 2007, and also with the Sony a100 DSLR. With a software update the Memory Stick will also be compatible with Sony VAIO products launched from the beginning of 2005, all PSPs (with system software version 2.81 or later) and Memory Stick Video Recorders.
