Slender, stylish and highly affordable – that?s how Sony is billing its latest Cyber-shot releases. Announced today, the Cyber-shot W35 and W55 are 7 megapixel additions to the W series, which feature maximum ISO 1000 sensitivities, 3x optical zoom and macro shooting down to 2cm. Shots can be framed using an optical viewfinder as an alternative to the W35’s 2-inch LCD screen, while the W55 offers a bigger 2.5-inch screen.
Designed to be easily accessible to new users, the W35 and W55 both feature a Function Guide that provides an on-screen description of each shooting mode. Making adjustments is simplified by pop-up icons confirming options like flash, macro and self-timer.
Sony says on-screen guidance on the most appropriate print paper size and number of shots available with remaining memory will help take the guesswork out of choosing the right image size. For greater convenience there?s also a ?Direct Play? button that switches instantly to playback for quick confirmation of shots.
Additional features include a brushed aluminium body, reported 380 shot battery life between charges and a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens. The Cyber-shot W35 will be available in the UK from mid February 2007 and the W55 will be available late February 2007. More information is available at www.sony.co.uk.
