Featuring a 5.7x optical zoom and 5MP CCD the CR30 is a new addition to Ricoh?s Caplio range.
Pitched as an affordable version of the recently released R3, the R30 includes a Double Retracting Lens System; in which the lens protrudes from the camera while being stored, enabling a 28-130mm wideangle lens to fit into a body 26mm deep.
When working in conjunction with the 5MP CCD, reduced image noise and high-speed focusing is promised from Ricoh?s Smooth Imaging Engine.
For capturing instant photo opportunities, the R30 clocks a shutter lag time of 0.09sec, decreasing to 0.007sec with focus lock, alongside a 1.1sec start-up and 0.5sec, shot-cycle time (with flash off).
Macro mode focuses as close as 1cm and the camera?s Zoom Macro Function automatically selects the optimum focusing distance to ensure a sharp macro photo. Other features include a 2.5in LCD; with adjustable brightness and 12-picture playback, 3:2 picture format and a DB-60 rechargeable battery that can capture 330 photos from a single charge, according to CIPA standards. New to the camera is a diagonal correction function, which automatically recognises askew angles and converts them to rectangles; a feature particularly useful for photographing signs.
The Ricoh Caplio R30 is available now for £219.99, find out more at www.ricohpmmc.com or by calling 020 8261 4031.
