Pentax has announced a new wideangle lens for its DSLR range.

The smc DA 15mm f/4 ED AL Limited offers an equivalent angle of view of 23mm when mounted on either a Pentax or Samsung DSLR body, and incorporates both aspherical and extra-low dispersion elements.

Designed to be compact and lightweight, the new optic also features a built-in lens hood, while 49mm filters may be mounted on its front. A minimum focusing distance of 18cm also allows for close-up photography, while the Super Protect coating applied to the front surface of the lens is said to make wiping off fingerprints and other marks easier.

The lens will retail from April at £569.99. For more information visit www.pentax.co.uk
