The Dimbola Lodge Museum is showcasing the talents of Adam Parker this November after he photographed the annual ice lantern festival in Harbin, China.
This is the first time that a major exhibition has chosen to showcase a complete body of his work and charts his capturing on film of China’s northernmost city.
Every year Harbin is transformed into a mass of icescapes that cover most of the city; it is a far cry from the festival’s roots as an ancient low-key tradition. Created under 35° temperatures, the amazing structures are painstakingly brought to life.
As well as showcasing the images, Adam will be giving an illustrated talk about his time in Harbin, which will be held on 26 November from 7-9pm.
The Isle of Wight’s Dimbola Lodge Museum, once home to the great Victorian photographer Juliet Margaret Cameron, will be showcasing the work between 11th November and 8th January. Tickets for the talk will cost £5.
