Founder of Take a View Landscape Photographer of the Year Charlie Waite has announced he will be launching a new competition, open internationally, based on landscapes of the USA
The new competition will, according to Charlie, ‘celebrate the rural and urban landscape of the USA’ while also offering photographers from all over the world a chance to get their hands on some serious cash.
The USA Landscape Photographer of the Year competition will offer a total of $14,000 in prize money, $5000 of which will go to the overall winner and $1000 to the Youth (Under-21) winner.
Charlie has assembled a prestigious panel of judges for the award, including Art Wolfe, Christopher Burkett, Jim Patterson and, of course, Charlie himself.

The eponymous award will be given for the best portfolio of three images, and there will be prizes for single images in five categories: Black & White, Classic View, Landscape on the Move, Urban Landscape and My U.S.A.
The competition winners will be announced on 30th May in USA Today, and an exhibition of the winning images will be shown in both the USA and Europe.
Entries are open to photographers from all countries, and will close on April 17 2014. For more details including information on how to enter, visit www.usalandscapephotographeroftheyear.com.
