Canon has launched its third generation of Pixma inkjet printers with a raft of new models. At the head of the pack is the u00a3149 iP6700D, which uses single ink tanks offering 9600x2400dpi printing and 1pl drop sizes.

Canon has launched its third generation of Pixma inkjet printers with a raft of new models. At the head of the pack is the £149 iP6700D, which uses single ink tanks offering 9600x2400dpi printing and 1pl drop sizes. The model also features a 3.5? LCD screen and a set of imaging tools including red eye reduction. The printer also offers IrDA and Bluetooth connectivity as well as multi media card slots.
Amongst the other printers in the range, the iP 4300 and iP5300 stand out. Each has the same resolution as the iP 6700D, but the £129 iP5300 has a claimed speed of 21 seconds per 6×4? print. All three printers offer duplex and CD/DVD printing and dual trays for photo and plain paper.
Additional models in the range include the iP1300, iP1700 and iP3300 with 4800x2400dpi resolution and 2pl ink drop sizes. The entire range incorporates the latest version of Canon?s FINE (Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering) print heads and ChromaLife 100 inks and papers for print longevity. There?s also a pair of Pixma Mini models, the 220 and 260, for 6×4?prints.
Finally Canon has added seven Pixma all-in-one devices, the MP160, MP180, MP510 and MP460. Prices range from £59 to £119, while the MP600, MP600R and MP810 cost from £159 to £249.
