The Lumix G7 becomes Panasonic fifth model to feature 4K video capture. See how it performs in our Panasonic Lumix G7 review
With the Lumix DMC-G7 Panasonic has looked to enhance 4K video and make it more user-friendly for its consumers.
Panasonic Lumix G7 Review – Features
This has been achieved by introducing three new 4K Photo modes (4K burst shooting, 4K burst (start/stop) and 4K pre-burst), with the idea being that they allow you to extract 8MP still images directly from a movie clip – a useful feature to have if you want to capture fast action, sports or other fleeting moments where it can be difficult to trigger the shutter at the perfect moment.
As well as recording 4K video (3820×2160) at 25p or 24p with a bit rate of 100Mbps, there’s Full HD (1920×1080) available too, recording in either the AVCHD or MP4 format.
Video aside, the G7 features a revised 16MP Live MOS sensor that’s paired beside a Venus Engine image processor. The sensitivity ranges from ISO 200-25,600 (expandable to ISO 100) and it can shoot a burst at up to 8fps.
There’s a very useful electronic shutter that increases the shutter speed up to a maximum of 1/16000sec and though the tilting touchscreen display is the same as the 3in, 1.04-million-dot screen on the Lumix G6, it inherits the superb 2.36-million-dot EVF from the Lumix GH4.

Other key features include 1,728-zone multi-pattern metering system that’s linked to the camera’s 49-point AF system, which covers a large portion of the frame.
