Family portrait guide focusing on Photoshop more than composition
Title: Digital Photography for Children’s and Family Portraiture
Author: Kathleen Hawkins
Publisher: Amherst Media, U.S.
Review: After previously offering advice on wedding photography, Kathleen Hawkins turns her attention to child portraiture with her latest technique book. Focusing entirely on digital photography, the book takes an in-depth look at Photoshop techniques. Little is said about shooting technique; the book seems to assume the reader can take the photo in the first place. Layout is confusing and the photography is poor, with only one or two noteworthy pictures. Anyone wanting to learn about child and family portraiture should look elsewhere.
