Nokia N8 camera phone review
As one of the veterans in the mobile phone market, Nokia has a wealth of experience in making handsets that both appeal to the mass-market and also offer high-end functionality. The company’s latest handset, the Nokia N8, claims to offer imaging performance like no other handset on the market, while also offering a range of functionality to match the very best available.
Where Nokia excels is in developing handsets that have mass appeal, and the Nokia N8 is no different. The Symbian-running handset is available in five colours and features a 3.5in touchscreen with a resolution of 640 x 360 pixels. The N8 also benefits in the memory stakes, with it shipping with both 16GB of internal memory and offering support for microSD cards up to 32GB, which when combined can offer 48GB capacity in your pocket.
The Nokia N8 is, on paper, streets ahead of the rest of the group with regards to serious camera specification. The optics are supplied by Carl Zeiss, while the handset also features a Xenon flash. HD video is also present capturing at a resolution of 720p and, when combined with the Dolby Digital Plus Surround Sound and HDMI out, looks to deliver a home cinema experience directly from your phone.

Despite the pixel-crammed sensor, the Nokia N8 still delivers an impressive amount of fine detail. Images display a pleasingly natural colour palette, with a good tonal range also on show.
