Colour

With no colour filters over the sensor sorting coloured light it’s not possible for the Leica M Monochrom to capture colour information in its files. However, Leica are releasing colour filters which will allow photographers to alter tonal contrast of yellow, orange and green.

Resolution

Resolving a maximum of 3600l/ph, the 24MP sensor does exceptionally at it’s base ISO of ISO 320. As the ISO is raised the resolution only slightly drops off resolving an impressive 3000 l/ph at the maximum sensitivity of 25000.

Image Noise

Google Preferred Source Badge

With no colour filter the sensor only collects luminescent values and as a result there’s no colour noise only fine-grained luminance noise. Barely any noise is noticeable at from ISO 320-800 while it’s obviously present at ISO 8000 and above it doesn’t blight them image until the 12,800 or 25,000
