The Fujifilm XP50 and XP150 offer water, freeze and drop proof shooting
Fujifilm has extended its range of tough, waterproof cameras with the arrival of the FinePix XP50 and FinePix XP150.
Both cameras feature a 14.4MP 1/2.3in CMOS sensor and 5x optical zoom lens with a 35mm focal length equivalent of 28-140mm. To combat camera shake, a CMOS Shift Image Stabilisation system is on hand.
The two cameras also share the same ISO range of 100-3200 and a Motion Panorama 360 mode for panoramic shots, while there’s also the capability to shoot video at 1080p.
The key differences lie in their ‘toughness’. The XP50 is waterproof to a depth of 5m, can withstand shocks or drops from a height of 1.5m and withstanding temperatures as low as -10°C. Its also dust and sandproof, with the camera’s access points are specially sealed for protection.
The XP150 goes one step further – its waterproof down to 10m and shockproof from a drop of 2m, with Fujifilm claiming it’s the toughest FinePix yet.
The FinePix XP150 and XP50 will be available in five colours: black, silver, orange, green and blue. Price and availability are still to be confirmed.
