Blubox, the award-winning image compression software, has been chosen by Tesco to power its new Picture Viewer software, which from February 2009 will be distributed free with every photo CD purchased by its customers.

Blubox is a simple drag-and-drop application that can compress jpeg files by to up to 95% for sharing online at a fraction of their original size, in a secure encrypted Blubox archive. It can also enable up to 20x more pictures to be stored on back-up hard drives.

The software received a WDC Gold Award and a 92% rating in our test earlier this year.

Customers using Tesco Photo Service and ordering a Photo CD from February 2009 will automatically get a free copy of Tesco Picture Viewer software on the disc.
