Sony has added two new lenses to its E-mount range, bringing the total number up to thirteen
Sony has expanded its E-mount lens range with the release of the E 20mm f/2.8 pancake lens and EPZ18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 OSS telephoto zoom. The two releases bring the total number of E-mount lenses in Sony’s range up to thirteen.
Starting with the E 20mm f/2.8 pancake lens, it measures approximately 20mm from front to back and is equivalent to 30mm focal length in 35mm terms after the 1.5x multiplication factor is applied. Designed for a broad range of everyday subjects and shooting opportunities, Sony promises the lens features enhanced clarity at the corner edges. Weighing a mere 69g, it accepts filters or adaptors with a 49mm thread. The lens will be available from March but pricing is still to be announced.
The Sony E PZ18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 OSS telephoto lens provides a focal length that’s equivalent to 27-300mm. On the barrel of the lens there’s a zoom lever, which is partnered by a separate switch to control zoom speed in up to six steps. It also uses a newly developed internal linear motor to improve focus smoothness and features a construction of 17 elements in 12 groups, with one ED glass element.
On the scales the new E PZ18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 OSS weighs 649g, accepts 67mm filters and has a minimum focusing distance of 30cm. Available next month, pricing of the lens is still to be confirmed.
