Incorporating a 6MP CCD and wide-angle Carl Zeiss lens, the S600 is the latest release into the Sony Cyber-shot range.
This silver point-and-shoot camera is particularly suitable for newcomers to digital photography. The 3x optical Carl Zeiss Vario Tessar lens offers an unusually wide angle of 31-93mm (35mm equivalent), making it suitable for shooting landscapes.
One of the most notable features of the camera is the enhanced flash; Strong Flash works 11m away from the subject (at ISO 1000), which is 3x the distance of prior models.
High Sensitivity technology is designed to reduce the effect of blurring that can occur when shooting in tricky conditions such as in low light, without the flash and of fast-moving objects.
In order to diminish the effect of noise, which can occur when higher ISO levels are used, the S600 includes Sony?s Clear RAW NR algorithm system to reduce luminance and colour noise.
Sony?s Real Image Processor promises a fast response time, and when two 2500mAh Ni-MH batteries are used with the S600, Sony says STAMINA technology enables the user to take 460 shots from a single charge.
Seven scene modes feature on the camera including: Twilight, Snow and Beach. Other features include: 2in LCD, 32MB internal memory, 16:9 shooting and Pictbridge compatibility.
The Cyber-shot S600 will be available from the middle of January for around £160. Find out more at www.sony.co.uk or by calling 08705 111999.
