Sony has announced the Cybershot TX5 compact camera, boasting a first for the Cybershot range.
The new TX5 is the first Cybershot model to be waterproof, while also sporting the lifeproofing capabilities seen in competitor compacts, such as dust-proofing, shock-proofing and freeze-proofing.
The TX5 isn’t your bog-standard lifeproof compact however – a 3in LCD touchscreen features, as does a 4x optical zoom with 25mm wide angle. The TX5 also offers 720p HD movie capture, as well as sporting Sony’s renowned Sweep Panorama shooting mode. Finally, at just 17.7mm thick, the TX5 isn’t going to weigh you down while on the go.
The TX5 is due on shelves in March, with price yet to be announced. See below for further information on the TX5.
