Long-awaited DSLR looks set to be released next month

Sigma has finally confirmed that the SD15, which was announced back in 2008 at the Photokina trade show in Germany, will be hitting these shores in early July for an SRP of £899.99. With the DSLR market having moved on in the two years since the announcement was made the SD15 will have to produce some highly impressive results to avoid being lost in a highly competitive price bracket.

The SD15 doesn’t differ a huge amount from it’s predecessor, adding a new processing engine in the TRUE II, 3″ LCD screen and SD card compatibility. The image is still created from three sensors, which then outputs an interpolated image of 14MP. We’re expecting a review sample soon, so keep checking www.whatdigitalcamera.com for details.
