Sigma today announced the development of a significant step forward in its DSLR range with the Sigma SD1. Featuring a new, larger (24x16mm) APS-C Foveon sensor with three 15MP layers, producing a total 46MP resolution, the new camera also has a completely redesigned magnesium alloy body which is splashproof.
Other new features include a new 11 point AF system, a new processing engine, (Dual TRUE II) and, for the first time in a Sigma DSLR, the ability to shoot Raw and JPEG simultaneously.
