9MP compact to feature CMOS sensor and Dynamic Range Double Shot mode
Ricoh has today announced the launch of its latest compact – the CX1. The model is unique amongst the Ricoh range insofar as it boasts a 1/2.3in CMOS sensor, outputting 9.29MP.
The Ricoh CX1 also features the companies new Smooth Imaging Engine IV which, when combined with the CMOS sensor, Ricoh claims will enable both high-speed image processing and greater image quality, as well as an expanded dynamic range.
Said dynamic range is also assisted by the compact’s new ‘Dynamic Range Double Shot Mode’, a function which captures two images at the same time with different exposures, and then combines the two to match the correctly exposed parts of the image.
The Ricoh CX1 also boasts an impressive continuous shooting rate, with the compact managing 4fps at full resolution, and a whopping 120fps at a reduced.
The Ricoh CX1 will be available from 13th March this year, with an RRP of £299.99.
