Photographers from two US newspapers have triumphed at this year?s esteemed Pulitzer Prize awards. The photography team at the Dallas Morning News scooped the Breaking News category for its vivid photographs depicting the chaos and pain after Hurricane Katrina engulfed New Orleans.
Meanwhile Todd Heisler of the Rocky Mountain News, Denver, won the Feature Photography category for his moving look at funerals held for Colorado Marines who returned from Iraq in caskets. Both awards, which also came with a $10,000 prize, were presented by Columbia University. Check out www.pulitzer.org.
