After a selection is made, an Image Information Layer ? which includes information about the texture, colour and border ? differentiates between hard and soft edges, and separates the edges and colours. Users can then adjust the resolution within the layer in difficult areas and separated edges are anti-aliased, retaining edge information. DCP Systems claims the plug-in is around 50% faster than other cut-out methods.
Retailing at around £351, Fluid Mask is compatible with Photoshop 6.0 and higher. Currently it is only compatible with Macintosh computers, although a Windows edition will be out in the autumn. For more information or to download a free trial, head to www.dcpsystems.co.uk
