Pentax has announced the new X90, the latest model in it’s high-zoom X series and one that Pentax dubbed an ‘all-in-one’ camera.

The new X90 boasts an impressive 26x optical zoom, covering a range of 26-676mm in conventional 35mm equivalent terms. The lens incorporates Pentax’s own CCD-shift-type shake reduction system to ensure that the extended focal length doesn’t lead to blurry images.

The 12.1MP X90 also offers HD movie capture, and is complete with an HDMI output terminal for displaying your images on an HD compatible device. The X90 also features an improved battery performance compared to its predecessor, with Pentax claiming up to a 50% improvement.
