The latest enthusiast compact camera to be released is the Nikon Coolpix P7700. Check out what new features it has to offer below.
Nikon has announced the Coolpix P7700 compact camera. Featuring a bright f/2.0-4.0 NIKKOR 7.1x optical zoom lens and 1/1.7-inch, back illuminated 12MP CMOS sensor it replaces its predecessor, the P7100. Supporting lens shift vibration reduction, full 1080p HD video capture, RAW shooting and a 3in vari-angle LCD screen, the P7700 is a feature packed compact that boasts an elegant design on first glance.
James Loader, Product Manager for Consumer Products at Nikon UK, commented on the P7700 saying “With its premium features and fast, bright lens, the COOLPIX P7700 is a surprisingly compact camera. The lens has a broad 28-200mm focal range and fast f/2.0-4.0 aperture, working with the highly sensitive 1/1.7-inch CMOS sensor to deliver clear, detailed images in any light, whilst the new vari-angle LCD monitor gives you a unique perspective on your shot, whether you are shooting stills or video.”
Other key features that the P7700 offers is an ISO range that spans from 80 to 6400 and full control of manual exposure modes including shutter priority, aperture priority and program. Flexible high-speed continuous shooting offers three different continuous rates of up to 8fps (for up to 6 frames), 4 fps (for up to 6 frames) and 1 fps (for up to 30 frames).
Compatible with Eye-Fi X2, SD, SDHC and SDXC media as well as the GP-1 GPS unit, the Coolpix P7700 will be available in black. Available from the 27th September, it’ll cost £499.
