New ultra-wide-angle zoom complete with SWM
Nikon today complemented the launch of its new HD-video enabled D5000 DSLR with the launch of a new ultra-wide-angle 10-24mm Nikkor lens.
The AF-S DX Nikkor 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G ED, to give the lens its full title, is designed for a DX fit, offering a focal range starting at 15mm equivalent on FX bodies.
The new lens also boasts Nikon’s patented Silent Wave Motor (SWM), a technology that helps utilise silent and prompt focusing.
“This great new lens is perfectly suited for Nikon D300 and D90 users and works very well with our other mid-class DSLRs too, including models without a built-in motor such as the D40 and the D60”, comments Ludovic Drean, Product Manager for Lenses at Nikon Europe B.V.
