Compact, 18x optical zoom
Nikon has added another model to it’s growing range of compact, superzoom COOLPIX cameras, with the launch of the S9100.
The new compact features a large NIKKOR 18x optical zoom, covering a range of 25 – 400mm in 35mm equivalent terms. The lens is accompanied with a range of anti-blur technology, including Hybrid VR – utilising both sensor-shift and electronic vibration reduction – as well as high ISO, motion detection and Best Shot Selection.
The COOLPIX S9100 also features a back illuminated 12.1MP CMOS sensor, which promises improved performance at the aforementioned high ISO settings.
This back illuminated CMOS sensor also offers full HD video capture at 1080p resolution, with quick operation offered by a dedicated record button. Framing takes place on the generous 3in, 921k-dot LCD screen, itself boasting Nikon’s Clear Color technology for improved performance in bright conditions while also reducing power consumption.
The Nikon COOLPIX S9100 is available in black, red and dark silver, has an RRP of £299.99 and will be on sale from 17th March 2011. For more information visit Nikon online.
