Nikon's new fast aperture medium-telephoto lens joins the Nikon D4 announcement
Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 85mm f/1.8G lens announced: new fast aperture medium-telephoto lens
Nikon has accompanied the launch its latest DSLR, the Nikon D4, with a new fast aperture lens – the AF-S NIKKOR 85mm f/1.8G.
The lens offers photographers ‘an affordable way to take advantage of Nikon’s rich legacy of renowned 85mm NIKKOR optics’, according to Nikon, and will no doubt grab the interest of Nikon users with an eye for portrait photography.
The 85mm f/1.8G utilises an all-new optical design which is comprised of 9 elements in 9 groups, as well as a dedicated Silent Wave Motor for discreet but accurate autofocus.
The weather-sealed 85mm weighs in at just 350 grams, making it lighter than its predecessors, and is compatible with Nikon FX and DX format DSLRs. It’s supplied with both Nikon’s HB-62 lens good and CL-1015 soft pouch.
The Nikon NIKKOR 85mm f/1.8G will hit the shelves on 22nd March this year with an RRP of £469.99. For more information visit Nikon online.
