Kingston Technology has introduced the microSD card, suitable for use in smartphones.
Demanding compact, flash-media storage, Smartphones are an increasingly popular section of the digital communications market, enabling users to access the web, read email and view photographs while on the move. The microSD card provides high-capacity storage, in a format smaller than a paper clip.
Jim Selby from Kingston Technology comments: ?The latest range of cards will offer consumers an ideal way to store mobile content, such as data, digital images, music and video on the move.?
Currently, 256MB cards are available and Kingston will later introduce cards with larger capacities. Each card is supplied with an SD converter enabling it to be used in SD compatible devices, and incorporates a write-protect switch to safeguard data.
The 256MB microSD card will cost around £23.50 (£20+VAT). Find out more at www.kingston.com.
