Gitzo has launched a tripod with a world’s first technology – the Ocean Traveler.

The Ocean Traveler incorporates the world’s first stainless steel tripod casting in the latest model of the ‘Traveler’ series.

The Ocean Traveler also features Gitzo’s unique Carbon 6x material, resulting in both sturdiness and light weight, while the combination of materials mean the tripod can even be used in salt water.

The stainless steel castings are made using Metal Injection Moulding, and then treated in a way to completely close the material for porosity, even at microscopic levels.

The Ocean Traveler boasts ‘Ocean-Lock’ mechanisms on the tripod’s legs that boast special inserts at each in of the sections to minimise water and debris in the tubes and mechanisms.
