Fujifilm has disclosed a long term plan to broaden the lens range for the X-Pro 1
Fujifilm has announced that they’re broadening the range of Fujinon XF lenses for the premium X-Pro 1. First to arrive will be a bright, super wide, 14mm f/2.8 prime that’s equivalent to 21mm in 35mm film terms. At the same time Fujifilm will also release an eagerly anticipated zoom lens – an 18-55mm f/2.8-4 that’s equivalent to 27-83mm. No precise availability date of these lenses has been confirmed other than Fujifilm saying that they will arrive in Autumn 2012.
Not stopping there, Fujifilm has also disclosed that a further five lenses will then be added to the line-up in spring 2013 meaning that by this time next year it can be expected that there will be a total of 10 lenses in the XF range. Studying Fujifilm’s XF road map (as of June 26th 2012) suggests the five additional lenses will be a 56mm f/1.4 (equivalent to 84mm), a 27mm f/2.8 pancake (equivalent to 41mm), a 23mm f/1.4 (equivalent to 35mm), a 55-200mm f/3.5-f/4.8 telephoto zoom (equivalent to 83-300mm) and a 10-24mm f/4 OIS super wide zoom (equivalent to 15-36mm).
