In the second of Fuji?s New Year product announcements, the manufacturer has unveiled two compact additions to its entry-level A series. Featuring a double whammy of firsts, the FinePix A610 and FinePix A800 become the first A series cameras to sport Fuji?s Super CCD HR sensor and RP (Real Photo) Processor. Both models also feature a dual memory card slot for the first time, which not only accepts Fujifilm’s traditional xD-Picture Card but also the SD format as well.

Fujifilm’s A series models are designed for family users seeking a simple to use camera. The FinePix A810 offers 8.3 megapixels, selectable sensitivity up to ISO 800 and a 3x optical zoom, whilst the A610 couples 6.1 megapixels and selectable sensitivity up to ISO 400 with a 3x optical zoom.

Multiple scene modes include a new Baby mode aimed at parents, which Fuji says will ensure that babies’ skin tones are reproduced naturally. The FinePix A800 also features a newly designed mode dial, so that users can quickly select scene position modes using just their thumb.

Adrian Clarke, Fujifilm’s Director of Photo Products, said: “These cameras significantly bolster Fujifilm’s A series, and for the first time, introduce technology from our higher-end cameras to our entry level models, demonstrating our commitment to first time users. The FinePix A610 and FinePix A800 are very affordable cameras, offering reliability, ease of use and great results, ideal for anyone starting out in digital photography.”
