The Intuos3 A5 Wide is a new pen tablet from Wacom targeting professionals and enthusiast digital photographers or imagers.

The Intuos3 A5 Wide is a new pen tablet from Wacom targeting professionals and enthusiast digital photographers or imagers.
To complement widescreen displays the tablet has a 16:10 aspect ratio and 6×11-inch work-area. Wacom claims that a wide-format tablet makes it easier to work on a wide-format display or double monitor, because the dimensions of a conventional tablet don?t match the screen proportions and can result in a distorted image.
The tablet features a 5,080dpi resolution, and the Grip Pen and Airbrush have 1,024 levels of pressure sensitivity. Tool ID automatically detects different tools and their individual settings, as well as recognising the tilt angle of the Grip Pen and Airbrush.
In common with other tablets in Wacom?s Intuos3 range, the Intuos3 A5 Wide includes two Touch Strips that speed up the workflow. Functioning like a scroll bar with zooming and scrolling presets, they enable specific tools to be touch activated. Frequently used commands can be assigned to the ExpressKeys.
Included with the tablet is the new Wacom Intuos3 Art Maker pen, which incorporates rotation sensing and pressure-and-tilt technology. It can be used for replicating the majority of brush, marker strokes or calligraphic pen effects.
Compatible with Windows and Macintosh computers, Intuos3 A5 Wide is available now for £249.90 from Computers Unlimited. Bundled with the tablet is Corel Paint Essentials2. Find out more at www.wacom.com
