Canon?s compact PowerShot series is to welcome a trio of new arrivals, the PowerShot A710iS, A640 and A630. All three models come complete with DIGIC II processors, iSAPS, 9-Point AiAF and FlexiZone AF/AE.
As its name suggests, the A710iS brings optical image stabilization technology to the PowerShot A Series for the first time to complement the camera?s 6x optical zoom lens. The 7MP A710iS keeps many of the features of its A700 predecessor including manual exposure controls, ISO800 and a 2.5? LCD screen.
The camera?s 20 shooting modes include Special Scene modes including portrait, landscape and action, while Manual modes cater for the more experienced user. Artistic photo effects can be applied in-camera during and after shooting with My Colours. The PowerShot A710 IS also offers a choice of five movie mode settings including VGA quality movies at 30fps and QVGA at 60fps.
The 10MP A640 and 8MP PowerShot A630 replace the popular A610 and A620. Both cameras feature a rotating 2.5″ vari-angle LCD, 4x optical zoom lend and maximum ISO800 sensitivities. A choice of 21 shooting modes includes Program, Aperture priority, Shutter priority and full Manual modes for complete exposure control. A Second Curtain Sync function on both cameras allows for creative flash exposures, such as light trails. Artistic photo effects can be applied in-camera during and after shooting with My Colours.
The new arrivals will hit stores this September priced £269 (A630) and £329 (A640). Pricing of the A710 will be confirmed at a later date, and full details can be found at www.canon.co.uk
