With a unique look, the engineers at Canon Inc give us a litte insight behind the design of the PowerShot N
The Powershot N was announced earlier this year at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. As you can see, it takes quite a different approach when it comes to design and handling compared to most compacts on the market today.
Canon has released some very interesting sketches that show how the design evolved into the PowerShot N.
As well as this, Miyabi Orihashi, Product Designer and Canon Inc’s Design Center has offered a bit more off an insight into how the PowerShot N came about. Asked about the design concept behind the PowerShot N, Miyabi said “it was a purposeful decision to create something that was unique in its design which the symmetrical design of this camera does. We wanted to make a product that didn’t confine consumers to shoot in the traditional way. The shape and size of the PowerShot N makes it possible to shoot anyway you like, allowing angled shots and many composition variations. The tilting touch panel, shutter ring and zoom around the lens barrel act as the main controls allowing users to set up and take shots in a different and more enjoyable way”.
We’ll be bringing you a full review of the PowerShot N very soon.
