12MP EOS 450D complete with Live View, 3in LCD and EOS Integrated Cleaning System.
Canon has today announced the launch of its latest DSLR in the shape of the EOS 450D.
With the marketing tag of ?get ready to play?, the EOS 450D claims to offer ?an unprecedented level of image quality and versatility at this end of the market?.
The EOS 450D arrives with an impressive specification. The 12.2 Megapixel CMOS sensor is a 2 Megapixel improvement on the 400D, and the inclusion of the EOS Integrated Cleaning System is sure to please the budding amateur.
Add to that a 3in LCD screen, which is 50% brighter than that of the EOS 400D, and a 30fps video feed Live View mode.
The EOS 450D employs features already proven in Canon?s professional EOS-1 series cameras, including the DIGIC III image processor and a redesigned tabbed menu system, including a ?My Menu? tab for instant access to frequently used functions.
Battery life is also improved, with a new high capacity battery allowing shooting time on a single charge of up to 500 shots.
?The EOS 450D bears the fruits of more than 20 years of ongoing investment into EOS,? said Mogens Jensen, Head of Canon Consumer Imaging, Europe.
Jensen continued – ?This camera continues Canon?s policy of taking technologies proven in the professional arena and putting them within reach of a wider market of amateur photographers.?
The EOS 450D will be available in two packages, with the ?Body only? package priced at £599.99, and the 18-55mm kit available for £679.99. Both are available from March 2008.
