A definition of Diffuser
Diffusers vary from small plastic panels which pull out of flash heads, to more expensive and elaborate devices such as mini softboxes. Most flashguns also come with a small plastic cup which serves the same purpose, though in all cases the idea is essentially the same: to diffuse the light and make it appear softer.
