Tokina’s Focus Clutch Mechanism. This allows the lens to be switched between autofocus and manual focus modes simply by snapping the focusing ring, while also disengaging the ring from the built-in motor while autofocusing. This latter point, Tokina claims, improves focusing speed and smoothness.
