Mark Hancox snaps osprey snatching rainbow trout from water after 7 hour wait
Wildlife photographers have to have patience in abundance. Snapper Mark Hancox’s shot of an osprey snatching a rainbow trout from the shores of Loch Garten in Scotland is a stunning sight to behold – and one that took a whole day of waiting.
Having set up a hide (WDC’s guide to shooting garden birds shows you how), a long seven hours of patience was required before an osprey swooped down and Mark’s silky skills snapped the bird at the opportune moment. It’s a great example of what’s possible when you know your subject, your camera gear and have the passion and patience to pull the shot out the bag.
Made for a great little read in this morning’s London Metro newspaper.
