Panasonic Lumix TZ70 vs Panasonic Lumix TZ60 – Comparison
Although the TZ70 doesn’t represent a huge upgrade on its predecessor – the TZ60 – it does make a few significant and welcome changes.
Firstly, and perhaps most significantly, are the changes made to the camera’s sensor. On the face of it the drop in resolution might appear like a downgrade, however the lower megapixel count results in much better image quality at higher ISO settings, as well as a wider dynamic range and therefore more detail in shadows and highlights.
The TZ70 also features a greatly improved EVF which, thanks to the huge increase in resolution, offers a more accurate representation of the scene you’re about to capture.
The TZ70 is still lacking in a few areas however – the LCD screen would benefit from either vari-angle or touchscreen technology (or both), while the processing power is somewhat lacking.
With that in mind, if you’re particularly price-sensitive the TZ60 could be the right option for you currently, although there’s no denying the TZ70 is an improvement on its predecessor.
