Fujifilm X-T10 Review – Performance
The X-T10 features a newly designed AF system
One pleasing feature on the X-T10 is that it arrives with an updated AF system in comparison to the X-T1. The set-up will be available as a firmware update for the latter camera, although it ships on the X-T10 as standard.
This set-up has a range of different modes, including ‘wide tracking’ and ‘group’ modes, all of which utilise Fujifilm’s 49-point grid. When out shooting, this new AF system generally performs well. Focus on static subjects is acquired both silently and accurately, a level of performance generally followed through in darker conditions as well.
Continuous shooting speeds are also generally improved on the previous system, an observation which will surely please X-T1 owners as well.
The X-T10 is a generally solid performer
In terms of the general performance of the camera, the white balance is fairly consistent. A benefit here is undoubtedly that the X-T10 offers a live exposure preview on the rear of the camera and in the EVF, and as such any exposure changes can be previewed live before the image is captured.
Another welcome feature which benefits the general shooting experience is the focus peaking display option – this highlights the in-focus parts of the images so you can insure you’re getting the right amount of focus as desired.
