The new IXUS 310 HS: 24mm wideangle 4.4x optical zoom and 1080p HD video recording
Canon has announced the IXUS 310 HS, sporting a 24mm wide-angle 4.4x optical zoom that offers a reach of 105mm, with a fast and bright maximum aperture of f/2. There’s also a 4-stop optical image stabilizer to reduce the risk of camera shake when slower shutter speeds are used.
The IXUM 310 HS’s sensor offers a resolution of 12.1MP and an ISO range of 100-3200, and combined with the DIGIC 4 image processor, Canon claim the IXUS 310 HS can realize the highest possible image quality with significantly less noise in all conditions. The IXUS 310 HS can also shoot 3.4fps (frames per second) at full resolution, while a rapid 8.2fps is possible at a reduced resolution of 3MP.
For those into movies, the IXUS 310 HS is also capable of shooting HD video at 1080p, while Super Slow Motion capture is also possible at 340×240 at 240fps.
As well as a selection of auto shooting modes, there are options to control aperture and shutter speed, too, while the 3in screen features a 460K dot-resolution PureColor II Touch LCD display with a customizable touch screen interface and Touch AF.
The Canon IXUS 310 HS is expected to be available early March, priced at £299.
