BenQ has introduced two new 5MP cameras into its digital line-up featuring Pentax Super-Multi Coating (SMC) camera lenses.
Providing a 99.8% transparency, the Pentax lenses are covered in a multi-layer coating, which is designed to reduce the effects of flare and reflection and produce superior images.
Peter Chen from BenQ comments: ?We will combine the strengths of our imaging technology with Pentax?s high-quality lenses, to provide consumers with the very best digital imaging solution.? BenQ has confirmed that it will be working on a future collaboration with Pentax to develop its digital camera line-up.
Incorporating a 5MP CCD, the BenQ DC E510 can produce images up to 2560 x 1920, rising to 2848 x 2136 with interpolation. It features a 2-inch LCD screen and 16Mb internal memory. The 3x optical zoom SMC Pentax lens has a focal length of 6?16.8mm and offers a macro focusing distance of 6cm.
BenQ has yet to release specifications for the DC E520.
Both cameras will feature the Senseye Technology image processor, which BenQ claims will improve colour representation and reduce the effect of image noise.
Prices and availability have yet to be announced. Find out more about BenQ?s digital camera range by logging onto www.benq.com.
