A six-month contract with the Times is up for grabs in the Times/Tabasco photographic competition.
Now in its fifth year, the competition is open to anyone between the ages of 19-25. Entrants must not have had previous experience on a national newspaper and will need to be available to take up the placement from the start of August. Photographers are invited to submit three different prints/images with contrasting styles. Each picture needs to be in one of the three categories: Action; Portrait; and Food & Entertainment.
As well as gaining first-hand knowledge of life as a photographer on a national newspaper and learn from the professionals, the winner will be given a selection of assignments on different sections of the paper, including news, sport and travel.
Clara Molden, winner of 2005?s competition, says: ?I have learnt so much technically about my photography and how the industry works? the best part of being a ?Tabasco kid? is the amount of interest and support you get.?
The closing date is midnight March 3rd. Entries can be emailed to Tabasco@thetimes.co.uk or sent to Times/Tabasco Young Photographer of the Year, The Times, Pennington Street, London, E98 1TT
